We Find Leaks That Others Can’t
With over 40 years’ experience and advanced detection equipment, we’re equipped to handle leaks in challenging conditions. Using Gutterman Acoustic, Radiodetection, and the Ferret system, we apply the right method for each situation — including leaks that are too small, too deep, or too difficult for traditional detection methods.

How We Locate Leaks
Acoustic Leak Detection
Radiodetection Tracing
Using radio detection technology, we can accurately trace the exact path of your water main and identify its depth before any further work is carried out. This allows us to understand how the pipe is laid, even when it runs under driveways, concrete, or landscaped areas.
Ferret Leak Locator
What to Expect From Our Leak Detection
This covers initial inspection, measuring water loss, and acoustic detection where conditions allow.
For more complex situations, advanced methods such as Ferret leak locating may be required.
We locate the leak first so repairs can be targeted and minimal, avoiding unnecessary disruption.
More complex leaks may require additional time using advanced methods.
In these cases, advanced methods such as Ferret technology are used.
Acoustic detection works well for larger leaks, while advanced pressure-based methods provide highly precise results in complex situations.
Situations where a leak cannot be found are rare and usually relate to pipe condition or access limitations.
Real Results on Difficult Leaks
Leak measured at 3.3 L/min (approx. 4,750 litres/day). Multiple underground services made traditional detection unreliable — accurately located using advanced methods.
Acoustic detection not viable due to heavy construction noise. Leak successfully located using Ferret Leak Locating technology.
Previous acoustic detection unsuccessful. Complex pipe layout including a 90° bend — leak accurately pinpointed using advanced detection.
Leak measured at 1.26 L/min (approx. 1,800 litres/day). Too small for reliable acoustic detection — identified using specialist methods.
No plans? Don’t know where your pipes run? No problem!
We’re often called in after other detection attempts have failed — we’ll trace the line and pinpoint the leak accurately.
